I work with adults  and cover a range of issues such as depression, anxiety, relationships, communication issues, identity, cross cultural issues, gender diversity, grief and loss, life changes, men's issues, and self self-esteem. But if I do not have the skills and experience to help you, I will assist you in finding someone who does.

Counselling Style

My counselling style is based on non-judgemental acceptance and teamwork. I like to encourage people to become really interested in observing their own emotions as a way of becoming self-aware. I encourage your inner detective.

 

But I take the lead from you as to whether you want to engage in deeper exploration of your life, or whether you are more interested in problem solving in the here and now.

I have specifically trained in a few techniques including CBT, Schema Therapy, and EFT Basics. I have many more modalities to explore so that training is ongoing. I will put links to each below if you want to read up on them. But everyone is different and I go with what suits you more.

My personal interest is in Jungian Therapy (dream work, archetypes, individuation etc).

Sessions are an hour because therapy is a challenge and can be quite tiring for client and counsellor, so an hour is plenty of time. In fact, I believe most of the work and change occurs in between sessions. But if you are keen I am happy to provide readings or homework.
